Maybe I'm the only one with this issue, but I really really hate when my phone is sitting on my desk charging and all of a sudden I'm startled by the persistent buzz of someone texting or calling me. Clearly I'm not bothered by the fact someone is texting me. I love attention. I've been pretty clear on this. It's how loud the actual vibration is on a Steelcase desktop. Well if Felt February has been good for one thing, it's solving this problem!
Have you also been drawn from your reverie by the sudden shaking of your work surface? Have you been mere seconds away from solving all the world's problems, stopped only by someone's delayed "lol"? Well sounds like you need one of these too! Good thing I've got this handy tutorial!
- ruler, pen, and scissors or rotary cutter (with mat)
- hot glue and glue sticks
- rubber stamp and ink pad or other embellishment (optional)
First measure your phone. Cut two rectangles that are a half inch wider and taller than your phone. Cut two more rectangles that are a full inch wider and taller than your phone.
Glue the two smaller rectangles together (one on top of each other). Now glue them to the center of one of the larger rectangles.
Now decorate your top piece of felt. I went for the Boho Hipster look with an arrow rubber stamp. Obviously anything would be great here. I just liked the idea of a flat embellishment. This also makes this a quicker project.
Now just run a line of glue around the edges of the bottom piece of felt and adhere the top piece! Done!
This is another one of those quick and easy projects that work so well as a gift and win hearts and minds with your thoughtfulness and dedication to giving something useful! I can't wait to see your version!
