I typed that title knowing it's a dirty lie. I know a few people who do not like hugs on an average day. But you know what? We all appreciate being thought of, especially if that thought includes treats of some kind!
This idea was inspired by Jen at The Creative Cubby (you're already reading her, right? If not, why not?). During Christmas, she published an adorable free printable that allows you to "elf" your neighbors and coworkers. I wanted to participate this past year, but I didn't have my act together (to put it nicely). Now I like to think I do (I can be charmingly naïve sometimes), but it's not Christmas. Thank goodness for Valentine's Day! An excuse to hug people without them knowing! That's only half as creepy as it sounds! And twice as easy with the free printable I've created for you!
With a vintage feel and black and white graphics, this will accommodate any copier and be completely gender neutral. I also carefully kept them from being saucy (which was easy enough, although there were some vintage temptations) or sarcastic (much harder for me. Hey! You try looking at a vintage woodcut of someone running with a knife and see if you don't want to caption it "I've been hugged").
Ready to hug a couple of neighbors or coworkers? Just print out the home or work version, make copies, and slide them into a small box or bag with some nibbles or other goodies. Next, covertly leave them where your neighbors or work mates will find them and feel the love! Now go forth and make everyone love your hugs!
