Two years ago, having been inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and a reluctance to deal with the stress and disorganization I'd dealt with in previous years, I issued myself a challenge. To refresh your memory, you can read the original post here (and see some truly eye searing graphic work). If you wish to be spared, here's a basic summary:
- The Dickens quote that inspired me: "I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year!" (said by a reformed Scrooge)
- To eliminate vagueness, I decided that on the 25th of each month, I would do one thing that would get me closer to being ready for Christmas, such as making my cards.
This idea seemed to go along pretty swimmingly until I got derailed sometime, oh, around February of that year. That year was followed by the epic awfulness of 2015. However, I don't believe in letting my past failures dictate my future successes (or failures for that matter), so I'm ready to give it a go again! I don't know what my first project will be, but I'll be sure that it still adheres to my Just Stash January Challenge too. At this point, it is completely acceptable for me to own that I'm obsessed with challenging myself and it's completely acceptable for you to consider me a little whackadoo.
Wait. You don't think I'm whackadoo and you want to join the challenge? I was hoping so! That's why I'm posting this early! Leave a comment and I'll add you to the Blog Roll of participants! Don't have a blog? E-mail me pictures and I'll be happy to share them! I'd love to track it on Twitter and Instagram too! Just throw in a #yearofxmas so I can see how you're preparing for Christmas too!
