Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I love the decorations, the glitter of everything, the fact that people are genuinely nice to each other!
What I haven't enjoyed lately is the stress. It seems like every year lately, Christmas has snuck up on me. Before you know it, it's time to deck the halls, address the cards, wrap the presents and I don't have anything ready. This year was the worst: I didn't send one single card. This has nothing to do with obligations of the season or anything like that. These are things I simply love doing and didn't get to. What's a girl to do?
Well if you're this girl, you issue yourself a challenge because, as I've mentioned before, I can't resist a challenge! And this one is based on a quote from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. After Scrooge has had a, well, attitude adjustment, he states, "I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year!" What a beautiful sentiment! But.... a little vague for a challenge. So I too will keep Christmas in my heart all year, but on the 25th of every month, I will do something that will ensure I have a smoother Christmas! This weekend, I'll start working on Christmas cards! I'll offer sneak peeks through Instagram and Twitter with a big reveal next week! And yes, these cards will be made with stuff from my stash!
Want to join the challenge? Leave a comment and I'll add you to the Blog Roll of participants! Don't have a blog? E-mail me pictures and I'll be happy to share them! I'd love to track it on Twitter and Instagram too! Just throw in a #yearofxmas so I can see how you're preparing for Christmas too!
